The preceding world record 0-62mph on electric car was in 1.779 seconds was set in 2015 by a team at the University of Stuttgart in Germany .
Last week the " Grimsel" electric car broke the record and do 0 to 62 mph in just 1.513 seconds, by the formula student team at the Academic Motorsports Club Zurich ( AMZ), making it the fastest electric car in the world.
The Grimsel took less than 30 meters from 0 to 62mph (100km), of track at the Dubendorf air base near Zurich according to ETH Zurich, a science, technology, engineering and mathematics university in Zurich, Switzerland.
